OS3-4 Behavior of simulated supraharmonics emission varying some of the Compact Fluorescent Lamp circuit parameters

A set of simulations describing the relationship between supraharmonics emission from a Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) and some variations in original circuit parameters, are shown and analyzed in this article. Simulations of a typical CFL circuit without any Power Factor Corrector stage are performed by means of LTSpice® simulator. Variations at Rectifier stage, EMI filter and Smoothing filter show strong influence on supraharmonics emission. Moreover, some supraharmonic emissions seem to be predictable by considering the “harmonic supraharmonics” and amplitude modulation phenomenon. These results are a step forward to understand the supraharmonic phenomena, at this time by means of simulation tools.
